Christopher Pesklo
Chris Pesklo is of Sami ancestry from the areas of Tromsø and Nordland counties of Norway, and of Jämptland in Sweden. His North American relatives (coming to the United States during the 1930s) had long known of their ancestral 'Lapp' heritage. You can look at a portion of his ongoing Sami genealogy. North American Sami Elders and friends have taught Chris the skill of Lavvu making. His work reflects his passion for the Sami culture.

Chris is also a member of the Norwegian-American Bygdelagenes Fellesraad and is the Lappmark Lag Genealogist for that organization..

Chris is also an active member and supporter of the Sami Siidat of North America and a past contributor to the Arran Newsletter and Báiki: The North American Sámi Journal.

Chris is a social studies teacher for the Saint Paul School District and is an 'urban Sami' and presently living in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. You can contact him at:
