The Lavvu Door

One of the most notiable difference between the Native American Tipi and the Sami Lavvu is the lavvu door. Much larger that the tipi door, the lavvu door is a longated triangle piece of cloth with at least three slats that provide a flat surface for the door to rest against the lavvu poles. Straps at the bottom of the door enable for the door to be tied to the lower part of the lavvu pole to prevent the door from blowing open.

Denim or Sunforger

Denim: We use the blue denim fabric for the lavvu door. It is as thick and durable as the lavvu cover itself.

Sunforger: Sunforger lavvu orders will include a white Sunforger door as described above. If you want the colored denim door with the Sunforger lavvu cover, please specifiy so with your lavvu order.
